We're looking a Great new team member! [Full-time]

Occu-Med Health Services has an immediate opening for an Audiometric Technician.  This is a permanent, full-time position, although hours may vary from week to week.

What are we looking for?

First & foremost - we're looking for someone that fits with our organization and our team. We want people who have a "can do" attitude.  Secondly, we need someone with great attention to detail,  and at least reasonable computer skills, as this job requires operation of technical equipment.

The Job:

We need a team member that will operate our mobile hearing testing truck, taking it to client sites to conduct audiometric (hearing) tests.  The job involves:

  • travel to client sites (primarily factories) in Southern Ontario;
  • odd hours, like early morning starts, as dictacted by our client's schedule(s);
  • overnight stays at hotels  (as required on a job-by-job basis);
  • interaction with a large number of our client's employees during the testing process, and
  • working under some pressure (sometimes) while at client sites

The requirements:

The successful applicant will have:

  • Above average attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Good ability to communicate in English, since communicating with clients is a key requirement.
  • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot cabling connections.
  • Clean driving record & 'mechanical' ability (to troubleshoot equipment and/or vehicle).
  • Outstanding willingness to serve others.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism when working under stress

We offer:

What we offer:
Training We don't expect you to know how to do hearing testing, or how to run our software.   We're patient teachers, but we need you to have basic computer literacy.
Flexibility on the number (and distribution) of hours to be worked Hours will vary from week to week, depending on client schedules and location.

Reasonably flexible vacation schedule We don't usually work between Christmas & New Year's; and we are reasonable with vacation planning and time-off requests.
Employee Benefits We offer group insurance & benefits, including health, drug coverage, and a 'health spending account'.
Additional Benefits Our additonal benefits include: paid charity day(s); additional PTO (paid time off); and sick days
Additional learning opportunities We cross-train many employees, and provide additional growth opportunities.

We demand of each other:

  • That service delivery personnel (you) be punctual and responsible - because you represent all of us, and our clients depend on us and work around us in many cases.
  • That all team members be able to work as part of a "peer" team where we expect you to offer your opinion and thoughts.
  • That you be willing to work with the team - and pitch in when necessary.
  • That you be passionate about presenting your ideas during discussion - but know that we all head in the same direction once the decision is made.

To Apply:

We accept applications to the email addresss 'hr [at] occumedhealth.com' in Word or PDF format.   This position is permanent, full-time, based at our office in London, and slated to start immediately.

We thank you for your interest.
